About
Since 1997, Rhonda H. Lauer has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Foundations, a nonprofit organization committed to providing quality educational opportunities for underserved youth. Foundations serves thousands of pre K-12 students nationwide by working with clients and partners to improve schools, transform afterschool and out-of-school time, and engage families and communities in education. Ms. Lauer is also a proud participant in the Annie E. Casey’s flagship initiative, Making Connections, a decade-long effort to improve outcomes for children living in tough neighborhoods.
Prior to joining Foundations, Ms. Lauer worked for many years in the School District of Philadelphia, one of the nation’s largest, as associate superintendent, management negotiator, principal, administrator, and teacher. She is a member of the national Time, Learning, and Afterschool Taskforce, formed by a grant from the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation and, in July 2009, served as keynote speaker at the New Day for Learning Institute. In 2008, Ms. Lauer received the first annual Pennsylvania State Representative Dwight Evans Leadership Award, for her exemplary leadership, vision, and tireless efforts to serve the Pennsylvania community through education, business, economic and work force development endeavors.
A national speaker and lecturer, Ms. Lauer sits on several boards, including the Greater Philadelphia Urban Affairs Coalition and Say Yes to Education.
